When most people hear the phrase, "When life gives you lemons...," they typically finish the sentence with something about making lemonade. I think that's a great way to use lemons, but I really love when this phrase is not used in such a literal way. We more often than not choose to use this phrase when we've been given an opportunity, whether we were working for and expecting it or not, and proceed to seize this opportunity and make something out of it. When life gives you a "sign," or throws something in your path that can help you achieve a goal, go after it! You'll never regret trying something or further pursuing a dream, but you will look back later in life and kick yourself if you didn't. So, when life gives you lemons...plan a vacation to explore somewhere new...start that business that you've been dreaming of...or follow the footprints of Adrianna Papell and create a gorgeous print that you can wear all summer long.

P.S. If you're dying to wear this dress to the office, but your company likes to waste money on over air conditioning your space to a seemingly Arctic-like temperature, layer a white collared button down underneath! Happy shopping Loves! xoxo

Have you ever come across something while you're online shopping and immediately thought, "OMG I NEED THAT IN MY LIFE?" Well, that's me most days, especially when I'm browsing ASOS, but I usually have self-control and refrain from actually buying anything. That was not the case with this dress. I told myself to think about it for an hour while I worked on something else to see if I r e a l l y couldn't live without it (this is a good life skill to work on for those of you out there who love shopping as much as me). And for that entire hour all I could think about was, "What if it sells out of my size before I get a chance to buy it??" I think you guys all know how this story ends.

BUT, I am a firm believer that it's always a good idea to have a few formal dresses on deck for weddings, dressy events, or anything that pops up at the last minute (ESPECIALLY for anything that pops up at the last minute)! I've been in the situation where I've been invited to a formal or black tie event at the last minute, and had to scramble to find something to wear. This not only leaves you with limited options, but can be extremely stressful. So, when you find that perfect dress, treat yourself once in a while, and then find a reason to wear it later. It will look really pretty hanging in your closet until then. And as always, happy shopping Loves!

I've been M.I.A. for a bit, but I'm BACK and ready to show you guys some really cool outfit ideas in the coming weeks. Work was crazy busy lately, and I moved apartments over the Fourth of July weekend, so my hands have been tied up with other responsibilities. But, I moved into my own apartment, which was kind of a big deal :), and I'm absolutely in LOVE with it. Anyways, back to talking about style!

I found this shift dress at J.Crew Factory earlier this summer, and I'd be lying if I didn't say it was a great staple piece to add to my closet. Having a "go-to" dress in a classic color on the bench for when you need something quick is a great thing to do - you never know when you'll be invited to do something last minute! I chose to go with a more casual look, and paired my dress with a bright neon embroidered clutch and silver block heels - a great option for any type of shower, a wedding, or really any reason to dress up just a little bit. The great thing about this dress though, is that it can also be worn to formal gatherings with a quick change of accessories. Versatility at its finest!

On another note, every time I've worn these heels I've gotten a TON of compliments on them, and they're only $36!! OH, and they're also some of the comfiest heels I own. You definitely can't beat that. As for the embroidered clutch; this was a rare find at TJ Maxx. One thing I've learned over the past couple years is that the key to finding those hidden gems at TJ Maxx is making frequent stops (And I've read in the past that they put out new merch on Thursday, FYI).

I'm so happy to be back sharing my ideas with you guys - keep checking back in the coming weeks for some new & exciting outfit inspiration! Happy shopping Loves! xoxo

Memorial Day marks the beginning of summer, and with that, lots and lots of weddings. I don't know about you guys, but I LOVE weddings. Dressing up, being surrounded by happy people, and dancing the night away with family and friends makes for a great weekend. Figuring out what to wear as a wedding guest can be a challenge sometimes though. You're not supposed to wear white (what are your thoughts on this??! I go back and forth on the issue), I try and stay away from the color that the bridesmaids are wearing, and you don't want to be too dressy or too casual. A lace midi dress is always a good option though - the length of the dress is appropriate for any type of wedding, the lace overlay is pretty and feminine, and a fun color like this emerald green makes a "wow" statement. With the lining of this dress being shorter than the lace overlay, it creates a younger vibe, making this silhouette an option for all ages. I paired this dress with a simple nude heel - not only does this elongate your legs, but I didn't want to take away from the gorgeousness of the dress. It is a statement all on its own! I found this specific style on clearance at The Limited, but I've seen great options at Express and Lulu's lately. Happy wedding season loves! xoxo
